Our History
Thirty years ago, leaders in Iowa’s conservation space saw the need for a private entity that could complement the efforts of public partners working to steward natural resources and enhance outdoor recreation. The Great Outdoors Foundation was born out of a desire to activate transformational quality of life initiatives and develop dynamic solutions for significant environmental opportunities. Over the course of its existence, the Great Outdoors Foundation has evolved to become a premier thought leader and self-proclaimed, “happy disrupter,” seeking new and nontraditional ways to solve complex conservation issues.
Our Opportunities
ICON Water Trails Development Officer
The Development Officer will work closely with the ICON Executive Director and Great Outdoors Foundation Vice President of Strategic Partnerships to design and implement strategies to secure financial support for the organization. This position will be responsible for meeting operational fundraising goals for the organization. Lead fundraising efforts, build relationships with donors and stakeholders, and help expand the organization’s donor base.
