RELEASE: Great Outdoors Foundation Launches New Brand, 30th Anniversary

DES MOINES, IA (Oct. 11, 2024) – The Great Outdoors Foundation (GOF) has launched its new brand as the kickoff of its 30th anniversary, the organization announced last night. Attendees of the Wild Prairie Showdown, GOF’s joint event with ICON Water Trails, were the first to see its new logo in this video. The organization also revealed a new website, complete with short case studies of some of the conservation and recreation initiatives it has contributed to over the course of its history.

On June 22, 1995, the Conservation Foundation for Polk County, Inc. — what is now the Great Outdoors Foundation — filed its articles of incorporation with the state of Iowa. In article three, which outlines the purpose of the organization, it reads, “To do any and all acts to bring about the conservation of natural resources, the enhancement of outdoor recreation opportunities, wise land use, conservation education, protection of open spaces, and the promotion of environmental ethics.” These words still provide the framework and foundation for GOF and its work today.

“Thirty years is no small feat, and we’re grateful for our incredible partners who have trusted the Great Outdoors Foundation to adapt and develop in a way that provides innovative and timely solutions to our most pressing conservation opportunities,” Hannah Inman, CEO of the Great Outdoors Foundation said. “Three decades later, we’re proud to continue doing the work laid out by the dedicated individuals who founded our organization, ultimately delivering a more creative and collaborative form of conservation than we could have imagined even just a few years ago.”
