RELEASE: GOF Featured in Short Form Documentary Produced by “Empowered Hosted by Meg Ryan”
DES MOINES, IA (Aug. 19) – The Great Outdoors Foundation (GOF) is pleased to announce its upcoming feature on “Empowered hosted by Meg Ryan,” an award-winning educational program airing on Public Television stations across the country. The segment will highlight GOF’s innovative approach to conservation funding and the power of public-private partnerships to accelerate measurable water quality outcomes.
Filmed in Iowa earlier this year, the segment explores how GOF is bringing together agriculture, conservation, business, philanthropy, and the public sector to overcome longstanding barriers to conservation implementation. At the center of the story is the Conservation Acceleration Fund (CAF), an innovative funding mechanism designed to leverage private investment, diversify funding opportunities, and move high-impact conservation projects from concept to implementation.
“Radical collaboration is the key to unlocking greater returns for water, people, and planet,” Hannah Inman, Great Outdoors Foundation CEO, said. “The dynamic public-private partnerships activated through the Conservation Acceleration Fund allow us to do more with less at a pace warranted by today’s pressing environmental opportunities.”
The segment also highlights the important relationship between conservation and agriculture and the opportunity to advance both through shared values. By bringing farmers, landowners, business leaders, utilities, nonprofits, and other partners to the table, GOF is orchestrating solutions that improve soil and water quality while supporting productive and resilient rural communities.
