Conservation Acceleration Fund

The environmental challenges facing our land and water are complex, but science-based solutions already exist. What’s often missing is the system to move those practices from possibility to implementation — aligning the right people, capital, projects, and technology around measurable outcomes.

The Great Outdoors Foundation created the Conservation Acceleration Fund (CAF) to close those gaps. The CAF orchestrates strategic resources to accelerate conservation at scale, bringing public, private, and technical partners together to turn investment and opportunity into measurable environmental impact.

The CAF is solutions-focused, cultivating dynamic partnerships that align capital investment, technical assistance, and scaling technology in order to advance conservation at the pace today’s environment demands. It engages a myriad of unlikely stakeholders in order to advance a shared vision, yielding desired outcomes for both people and planet.

Build the systems necessary to move conservation from concept to completion. The CAF identifies high-impact opportunities, convenes the partners needed to deliver them, and develops portfolios capable of producing measurable water, land, and community outcomes.

Develop financial mechanisms that pair investor objectives with stakeholder needs to unlock environmental outcomes. The CAF’s adaptive capital stacking model can meet match requirements, activate public dollars, and create financial flexibility to modernize funding solutions for conservation.

Support the diversification of strategy by bringing varied sectors to the same table to challenge conventional approaches, identify systemic barriers, and develop new pathways for conservation delivery. Concurrently, we advance tools, data, and emerging technologies that improve how conservation opportunities are identified, implemented, measured, and scaled.
